ABOUT

Award-winning double bassist, composer Csaba Pengő received his masters in Jazz music at the prestigious Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in 2004. He toured and recorded internationally with several bands over three decades, providing solid bass lines to contemporary, classical, jazz, blues and global music artists. The variety of styles he played throughout his career all influenced his own musical world which beautifully displayed in his first and second solo releases.
His all-original instrumental solo debut album Circles was released in 2021 with Inexhaustible Editions Records out of Slovenia, EU.
In 2023, his second solo album Autumn Rain in a Secret Garden won the ’Solo Instrumental Album Of The Year’ award by the largest highest-resolution audio download store Native DSD based in the Netherlands.
Csaba Pengő exclusively performs on his self-designed and handcrafted Tala-Pengő double bass.
In 2025, he formed Ebony Consort, a chamber jazz duo with clarinet/saxophone player Bálint Uher-Győrfi.
